Linhardt at the FachPack 2009

Press release
| 30.08.09

Karl Linhardt GmbH demonstrates its development expertise.
Linhardt Stanzformen GmbH will be presenting many new and improved systems for the packaging industry at this year’s FachPack in Nuremberg, Germany (Hall 7, Booth 332).

The company has further developed its high precision Glasbord® die and the embossing set-up system LINPOS
®.
Glasbord® is known for its extremely high dimensional accuracy, which remains constant even with large fluctuations in air humidity and temperature. It is also lighter than comparable dies and thus easier to handle. Linhardt is adding a sister product for this series which will be introduced at the FachPack.

Automation components for small run
s
The newly developed LINBLANK blank cutting system speeds up the manufacturing process for fine cardboard boxes while setting new standards in quality. Thanks to a plug-in system, the tool can be changed without a lot of time and effort. This reduces make-ready times and costs, thereby making cutting economically viable for small and medium runs as well.

Linhardt has also developed the easysheeter sheet stacker for stacking all blanks which are still connected together. The lower section of the delivery system consists of an aluminum frame with adjustable rails for the X and Y direction; the upper section consists of a wooden base plate with section rails and flexibly mounted punches. Adjustment of the stops against the measurement scales reduces make-ready times when changing orders.
All scrap parts are removed in advance at a stripping station.

A fundamental innovation that the company has developed is the Linbraille writing system for the blind. Linhardt is planning to separately publish detailed information about this after the trade fair.

Water pressure up to 6,000 bar
When it comes to water jet cutting technology, the specialist has set new standards in production. In addition to high-precision cutting accuracy, it is also possible to work with minimum cutting widths and correspondingly high utilization of material.
The up to 0.4 millimeter thick water jet is thinner than a pin and attains a pressure as high as 6,000 bar, with discharge speed at the cutting head reaching as much as 1,000 m/sec. This cold cutting technique does not affect the microstructure of sensitive materials, so that end products remain stress-free and no burrs are produced. This high-quality technology can also be used for contract production.

Through its counterplate technology, Linhardt has been known for years for its high standards of perfection. Counterplates are obtainable in different degrees of hardness and offer an attractive combination of quiet sheet running and high blank quality.
Embossing punches as well as counterscoring lines and negative grooves can be integrated in the production process.

The company
Eighty years ago, Karl Linhardt founded the company that today is Karl Linhardt GmbH. The company, located in Dietenhofen near Ansbach in the German region of Central Franconia, currently employs a workforce of 60 and develops and produces dies for the production of fine cardboard boxes especially for the food, tobacco, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
With the introduction of counterplate die cutting technology about 20 years ago, Linhardt set new standards that still apply today – in line with its motto 'Leading through innovation.'
